I'm excited to be running to raise money for the Foundation for Letters at the Brooklyn 5K in Prospect Park on April 15th to support the Foundation for Letters, an organization that promotes writing programs in New York City that I have been involved with for years.
This year I am raising funds and awareness of a wonderful summer writing program that matches teens in the Bronx with professional writers for a one-week intensive workshop. It is called Bronx Loaf. The program is awesome and it's completely free for the teens, and open to any New York City high school student. A number of past workshop attendees will be at the run to read from work produced in the weeklong intensive workshop. And we will also be distributing information on this year's summer program.
Help me exceed my goal of raising $1,000 for writing-intensive academic and enrichment programs, specifically our 2018 Bronx Loaf summer writing program. Foundation for Letters, a New York City non-profit, supports hundreds of students that attend over 70 different New York City high schools by engaging them with writing in ways otherwise unavailable to them. You can show your support by donating or running with me!
