Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Family:
Mental illness is a real issue, a growing issue. The numerous challenges facing individuals with mental illness are significant and far reaching, and it is time to do more. In recent months, thanks to the brave individuals that have national or global platforms, the awareness and discussion around mental illness is starting to gain momentum. However, we need to do more than talk, but act for the people and their families struggling to overcome the devastating impact of the many forms of mental illness.
My family is dealing with mental illness on several levels and I want to do more. Thus, I am starting the STOP MI fundraiser. Stop, Think, Organize, and Participate in reducing Mental Illness (STOP MI) is to help raise needed funds to support research and resources for the millions of people impacted. All funds raised will be directly donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and help further their efforts in finding new solutions and hope. Everyone is or will be impacted by mental health directly or indirectly, so let’s work together to do more!
