Thank you so much for visiting our event page for the 2019 Falmouth Road Race!
For a 10th and final year, the Sturge-Weber Foundation is lucky enough to be represented by an amazing team of committed runners. Led and motivated by Sturge-Weber moms, and Sturge-Weber Foundation champions, Pam McIntyre and Jessica Melo, our team has grown from 5 runners in 2010 to an astounding 75 runners for this year's race! Each team member is dedicated to building on the $740,000 that has been raised since that first, special year. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but on August 18 we are determined to make it across that finish line, raising a whole new level of awareness AND smashing our record for dollars raised and finishing this ten year labor of love with a cumulative total of $1,000,000 raised for our Sturge-Weber community!
Sturge-Weber Syndrome is a congenital condition characterized by a facial port-wine birthmark and varying degrees of glaucoma and/or seizures. The Sturge-Weber Foundation is a non-profit organization with a mission of improving the quality of life for people with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, through collaborative education, advocacy, research and support. SWF has dedicated 30 plus years to sponsoring educational programs and funding research (including contributing to the ground-breaking discovery of the GNAQ gene that causes SWS) to help improve treatments and ultimately to find a cure.
