September is Suicide Awareness Month and Gia Allemand Foundation is raising $1000 to support our Women's Peer Support & Crisis Intervention program. Women of reproductive age are three times the risk for depression. For every man who dies by suicide, there are four women who attempt it. Despite this, there are limited support and crisis intervention services available that solely focus on the unique biology and minds of women and girls. Our Women's Peer Support & Crisis Intervention program provides free and compassionate support around the clock and around the world. Through the foundational belief of Zero Suicide, suicide deaths are preventable for individuals under care within health and behavioral health systems. Peer support is an invaluable part of ongoing and supplemental care. Together we can prevent female suicide.
