Not too long ago, my family came to the United States as refugees from Europe with the support of a number of international aid organizations, including HIAS (the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society). My grandfather, Henry Sheridan, arrived in New York, a young man with a trained runner's stride and big dreams for his future -- mainly to live in a country with equality, freedom, justice, and peace for all.
Roughly 85 years later, we're still fighting to achieve Henry's dream, and so is HIAS, which continues to help refugees find welcome, safety, and freedom to this day. Please consider sponsoring my run by making a donation in support of HIAS -- any amount makes a meaningful difference. Thank you.
