Yoga is a calming and strengthening activity that benefits people living with brain injuries or neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease or MS. It is important in reducing stress, building strength and endurance, and most of all having an enjoyable activity to share with others. Working with brain injury survivors at Douglas House each week has given me the chance to observe the difference exercise can make to promote well being and healing. Cardio-vascular exercise, strength training and balancing exercise are also offered weekly. Programs specifically designed for brain injury survivors and those with MS and Parkinson's are rare. I am proud to support this great organization and hope you will too!
