This is my official fundraising page. I'm running the 123rd Boston Marathon in April 2019 as part of a Team Brookline. My charity is the outstanding Brookline Teen Center.
First off, thank you Team Brookline for selecting me for this awesome mission!
Team Brookline, the Town of Brookline’s official Boston Marathon team, is a committed group of adult runners who train together for the Boston Marathon while raising funds for five partner charities that play an integral role in strengthening and enriching our community: The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and my charity the Brookline Teen Center.
The Brookline Teen Center provides a safe, enjoyable environment where teenagers can engage in constructive, educational, and leisure activities. The BTC strives to develop and empower diverse leaders who will enrich the Brookline community. Led by Director Matt Cooney (picture above).

Q. A marathon? Are you nuts?
A. Sure it's a daunting task, but I'm doing it for the community that I grew up in, where I raise my kids and that has given me so much. It's also a race as such I'll invoke MacArthur, "Upon the fields of friendly strife, are sown the seeds, that upon other fields, on other days, will bear the fruits of victory." Your support motivates me to meet this challenge, on these fields, head on!
Q. How did Team Brookline start?
A. Each of the eight towns along the Boston Marathon route is given a number of race entries as a thank you for their support of the race. In 2012, the Town of Brookline became the first town to take these invitational numbers and create its own charity program, giving members of the community a chance to run in a historic race and establishing its official Boston Marathon team: Team Brookline.
Q. I'm probably going to be a big donor, but how else can I help?
A. There are many ways to help.
1. Please spread the word and pass along my story to your friends. http://bit.ly/BTC262
2. Be a Long Run Volunteer. We run every Saturday morning and can always use folks to support the run logistics. Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4ca9a92ca0f58-team
3. Come join us for the party on April 15th, 2019. The race is on a Monday and it's the Patriots Day holiday here in Boston. Come hang out with my family in Wash Sq and cheer me and all my Team Brookline teammates to the finish!
