On April 15th, 2019 I will be fulfilling a lifelong dream- running the (123rd!) Boston Marathon, one of the nation's largest and most prestigious sporting events. I will be running to support mental health, a cause I care deeply about.
Mental health, though widely stigmatized and unspoken about, touches all of us. I'd be willing to bet my left leg (even though I need it for the marathon!) that either a family member, friend, someone you know or yourself has dealt with a mental health issue. I work in the global mental health field, but want to support local causes, too. As part of this marathon adventure, I chose to fundraise for the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health because it provides affordable mental health and community-based social services regardless of ability to pay, and in a suburb that my family and I have lived in.
Will you join me in supporting community mental health? Please share this page with friends and family, and see if your place of work has a matching gift program.
Thank you so much- every little bit counts!
