Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to come to my fundraising page! The 2018 season is here and we have taken on a hefty goal of $700,000 this year. BvB Dallas continues to grow and it wouldn’t be able to do so without the continued support of those willing to make a difference. You may be wondering where all this money goes, well I'm proud to announce our benefeciaries for the 2018 Season are Center For BrainHealth, UT Southwestern, The Senior Source and The Alzheimer's Association.
2017 was my first year joining BvB Dallas and I wasn’t really sure how I would fit in with the organization. Without a direct connection to Alzheimer’s Disease, I really just jumped in head first and figured it out. As I became more and more aware of the mission behind BvB Dallas, I grew more and more passionate about the cause. This got me talking, which led to me knowing that many people I knew were directly connected to the disease. One being a coworker, who’s mom, June Gresham, is currently tackling it herself and who I played in honor of last year. More and more people I knew had experienced some form of the disease with a loved one and that affected my connection to this amazing organization. Alzheimer’s Disease isn’t a commonly talked about disease, but it should be. Every 65 seconds someone in the U.S. develops the disease and it is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S.
This year, I have taken on a more active role with the organization and have become a recruitment chair for the Bru Crew. I wanted to be able to contribute to the warm welcoming I received last year and I wanted to make sure we were going to get quality players and fundraisers so we could hit and surpass our 2018 goal. With that being said, I’ve also upped my own personal goal. Last year I was able to raise over $3000. This year, I’m working towards $5000. With your help, I hope to meet that goal and continue to tackle this disease with others who are just as passionate about the cause as I have become. Thank you again for your continued support!
