I’m very excited and honored to be running the 2018 Chicago Marathon on October 7 with Every Mother Counts (Team EMC). Although I do not have any children, I am the daughter to one wonderful mama, a lucky aunt to four girls and a soon to be baby boy AND a “wannabe” aunt to my closest friends’ babies. All of these women were lucky enough to receive proper care during pregnancy and childbirth and everyone deserves that same care. We are fortunate enough to have a car or get in a taxi and be at a hospital with the best doctors and nurses within minutes.
I’m running for all of those mama’s I know because you and your children have made a difference in my life! Please join me in supporting Every Mother Counts.
Any donations (big and small) and/or words of encouragement are greatly appreciated!
Every Mother Counts is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. We run because distance is often the biggest barrier to a woman and her family getting the care they need. Some women even walk over a day to receive lifesaving care. We want to run so that others don't have to.
Hundreds of thousands of women throughout the world die during pregnancy and childbirth each year. That's 800 women every day. The good news is that up to 98% of these deaths can be prevented.
Here are some ways you can get involved.
