Team Madelyne is excited to transition from the Cleveland Triathlon to the Race to Empower, all while raising funds and awareness for UCP of Greater Cleveland! Madelyne started coming to UCP for physical and occupational therapy nine years ago. Born at just 26 weeks and weighing only one pound, nine ounces, she spent months in the NICU at Akron Children’ Hospital. At only 13 years old, Madelyne has already been hospitalized upwards of 60 times, primarily for issues related to cerebral palsy, GI problems and chronic lung issues. She has had numerous surgeries to help with the effects cerebral palsy has on her body. Every surgery and illness gives Madelyne major setbacks, but with the help of UCP of Greater Cleveland and the therapies they provide, she is able to get stronger. Please consider a donation to support UCP of Greater Cleveland to ensure that all children with disabilities can receive the therapies they need to advance their independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community. Thank you for your support!
