This Sunday, my son Noah and I will run our first marathon - the New York City 2017 Marathon -and we run in support of Achilles. Noah is one of more than 300 Achilles athletes from all over the world who will be racing in NYC, and I will run as his guide. Achilles International is a phenomenal organization; their mission is to enable people with all types of physical and cognitive disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics, in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self-esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life. They do this in more than 30 chapters all over the world, with able-bodied volunteers training side-by side with disabled athletes, including special teams for children and war veterans. We can say firsthand that running with Achilles has made a huge impact in Noah's life, in his strength, posture and his gait, and also in his confidence, independence, focus and his ability to work toward his goals. Noah now trains year-round with Achilles and their amazing volunteer guides, and has participated in many events, including 7 half-marathons. Thank you to all of our family, friends, clients and business associates who have cheered us on as we have been training - it has meant so much to us. If you can, please help us support this great nonprofit organization and all the people it serves.
Thanks very much, Michael and Noah Coopersmith
