Hello Friends! We are very excited for this years White Cane Walk. You see, just the other day we received Owen's first white cane! He hasn't been introduced to it yet, because we don't have the experience to ensure that his introduction goes well. That's where the Cleveland Sight Center steps in to give us the information and guidance we need to allow Owen an added level of independence in his world.
Owen is doing incredibly well. He is walking and talking up a storm. He loves music, and laughing, and rough housing with his brothers. While we know he is a very special little boy, we also have to give credit to the Cleveland Sight Center for helping all of us along the way. In April, Owen had surgery on his left eye to alleviate glaucoma which threatened his vision. It was very scary. The staff from the Sight Center offered us practical and emotional support to help us through a tremendously stressful event. Owen will have surgery on his right eye in June. It is a comfort to us to know that they will be there for that as well. The support and services that CSC offer are invaluable.
We were blown away last year at the outpouring of love and support that you all showed for this amazing organization. Thank you. Your continued support will be used to offer Owen, as well as the entire blind and low vision community of Northeast Ohio, the support and resources they need to thrive. Please join us in supporting the Cleveland Sight Center any way you can. See you at the White Cane Walk!
