The Prince George's County Police Department is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in the State of Maryland employing more than 1,500 police officers and 300 civilians provide a full range of law enforcement services to nearly 900,000 residents and business owners. Founded in 1931, in it's 87-year history, the Prince George's County Police Department has had a total of 30 officers and 2 Police K9's make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Next month we’ll be participating in the The Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) 5k during National Police Week and we’re raising money on behalf of the ODMP. We were able to raise around $1500 the last time and hope to raise $3,000 this go round, raising $100 in memory of every Line of Duty Death for PGPD. No amount is too small and every share helps!
For those who may not know about the ODMP, The Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc., (ODMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring America's fallen law enforcement heroes. More than 22,000 officers have made the ultimate sacrifice in the United States since 1791, and it is with great honor that the ODMP preserves their memories within its pages. The countless stories of selfless courage and heroism exhibited by officers who lost their lives while serving and protecting the citizens of this great nation are a testament to the dedication of those men and women who wear the badge.
