I grew up just outside Boston and have been hearing about or watching the Boston Marathon my entire life. The amout of training, effort, time, preparation and fundraising that each runner puts into those 26.2 miles never ceases to amaze me. Last year, Boston Marathon participants who ran on behalf of more than 200 non-profit organizations raised over $34.2 million for charity.
It is an incredible honor for me to be running the 122nd Boston Marathon for the Tufts Medical Center Team this year. I started working at Tufts Medical Center almost a year ago, and everyday I get to see the incredible work they do. Tufts Medical Center has been providing compassionate, first-class care since 1796, and the 415-bed facility continues to provide vital care and services to patients throughout Massachusetts. Funds raised through Team Tufts MC go toward our mission of providing compassionate care, conducting life-changing research and educating future physicians and scientists – all while keeping our patients at the center of everything we do.
Running and fundraising for Tufts is my way of giving back to an organization that has given me so much, and my way of saying thank you to all of the nurses, doctors, techs, and staff for working so hard everyday and always being there for those in need. It is an honor to work alongside such selfless, caring individuals, and their energy and support will be motivating me every step of the way.
Please consider supporting my 2018 Boston Marathon efforts by making a donation! The funds I raise will directly support Tufts Medical Center’s mission to heal, to comfort, to teach, to learn and to seek the knowledge to promote health and prevent disease. If your employer matches charitable donations, I encourage you to take advantage of the program to double your impact and help me reach my goal even faster! My personal fundraising goal is $8,000.
Thank you for your support, and if you're looking to come support me in person, the race will be held on Patriot's Day, April 16, 2018!
