In February 2017 my mom was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer and since then it has been an ongoing battle. I'm running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon with team T.E.A.L in hopes to raise $1,000 to bring awareness to the disease and the symptoms that come with it. As of today there is no screening for ovarian cancer which is why it is SO important for women to know the signs so it can be detected early. More than 75% of cases diagnosed are found after the disease has already progressed. Early diagnosis can mean better response to treatment and a better prognosis in the end. Running is one of my favorite things and I am so excited to do it for a cause that means so much to me. Please donate whatever you can!! Every little bit helps!
