The dKol la femme Project is a non-profit organization focused on healing through art. We offer a community of support that provides a platform for those who wish to have their stories told through multi-media therapeutic formats.
Your donations will go towards:
Donations will be used for startup costs of becoming a not-for-profit. Among other things, it includes documentation fees, equipment, attorney fees, etc..
After startup, all proceeds/donations will go towards supporting our recipients in their RX healing process.
We support tough topics. Dark and light can't exist without one another and we're believers that it is because of those dark times that we find parts of ourselves- including our strength that we didn't even know we had. The dKol la femme Project came to existence because we strongly believe our combined creativity will tell your story in a way no one else can.
As an organization, we not only aim to heal individual's through theraputic photography and our RX process, but we aim to be a voice that makes it ok to talk about tough topics. We recongnize that without first acknowledging the dark, you may struggle to find the light. By acknowledging the dark, you can deal with it and overcome it allowing you to get to the light. Why should we struggle in silence and not talk about these dark times that we all experience? Instead, let's talk about it, acknowledge it, and form a warrior tribe of supporters. Let's start a movement and heal, together.
We understand that healing is a process, and accepting and spending time in the dark is how we find the light. We are fostering conversation and self-healing in unique ways.
How can a person heal through their participation?
Have you heard of therapeutic art? This is art that involves the use of creative techniques to help foster expression of feelings. More specifically, therapeutic photography refers to the use of photographic practices with the intended goal of producing a positive change in individuals, couples, families, etc., as well as improving well-being, reducing social exclusion, and creating positive change in larger communities.
What does participation mean?
Do you have a cause, or another not-for-profit that is near to your heart? Maybe, you know someone who’s been affected by an event, someone who struggles with mental illness, or someone who battles with self-hate, insecurities, or the impacts of abuse. Or maybe this someone is you. At The dKol la femme Project, we ask you to choose your reason for your interest in participation. Think of the person above who is struggling – whose story you want to be told. Through our network, and yours, we will work together to raise money to tell this story and support the larger community. A portion of the proceeds of each project will go to a related not-for-profit of your choice! In helping yourself (or a loved one) to heal through therapeutic art, you are also helping support a greater community of people with similar stories.
The dKol la femme Project has already expanded its reach by being featured on both ABC Nightline & Good Morning America - where they shared a story on embryo adoption, first documented by The dKol la femme Project. The Morgan's (the family featured) reached out to The dKol la femme Project in the early stages of their journey to becoming pregnant looking for an outlet to not only heal and find support, but to also speak out about infertility, something so many women struggle with but do so in silence because of the negeative implications around infertility. Through these features and growth of our reach, this voice continues to get louder! This is why we do what we do - to continue to increase the volume on the voices and stories that deserve to not only be acknowledged, but shared. It takes one small voice; one small act of bravery to start a movement. Let's make it ok to talk about these things so we no longer feel pressure to struggle in silence.
Please consider supporting The dKol la femme Project, so we can continue to spread support, spread awareness, and foster healing - It's where vulnerability meets liberation, and we want to help get you to liberation.
Because our sole purpose and focus is on healing and awareness, we partner with many other organizations to further expand our support groups and voices.
We thank you in advance for your generosity, and we are so honored to be able to bring this mission to our community!
