Our sanctuary depends upon donations from generous supporters like you. Thank you for your financial help, which enables us to provide a "forever" home to special needs pets -- a home where they find the peace, comfort, companionship, healing, and love that they may have lacked for most of their lives.
Our not-for-profit animal sanctuary is staffed and run by volunteers. One hundred percent of each donor dollar goes to the care of our sanctuary animals.
The purpose of our sanctuary is to provide a “forever” home for (1) emotionally and/or physically handicapped pets, (2) pets whose cost of medical care to ensure quality of life is beyond the capability and financial means of their owner, (3) pets who are not good adoption candidates (the blind and/or deaf, the arthritic, the amputees, etc), and (4) terminally ill pets (cancer, congestive heart failure, renal insufficiency, etc) who still have a quality of life and the will to live.
Our mission is to bring about a time when there are No More Abandoned Pets. We believe that all pets – no matter the circumstances of their health or age – deserve to live a quality life in a loving home environment. Nearly 75% of our animals are "seniors."
All our animals live in either our main foster home or in one of our satellite foster homes. Upon arrival, each receives veterinary care, including: office visit, blood work, fecal analysis, and dentistry, if needed and if they are a good anesthesia candidate. We give our animals every treatment they require, and as much Tender Loving Care as they crave. They give us – in love and companionship – far more than we give them.
Our organization has grown over the last few years in the following ways:
(1) We have increased the level of medical care our animals receive via the addition of veterinarian-administered acupuncture and veterinarian-administered chiropractic treatments as adjunctive therapies for those animals who may benefit from these treatments.
(2) We have increased our main foster home’s first aid capabilities by creating a dedicated, on-site, 300-square-foot treatment room that contains a veterinary-quality exam table, 3,000-pound-capacity walk-on scale (to accommodate animals up to and including horses), and supply cabinets full of bandage materials and other first aid supplies.
The purpose of our fundraiser is to raise enough money to purchase two "big ticket" items to further improve the quality of life of our sanctuary animals.
Big Ticket Item Number 1: We want to improve the quality of the three canine outdoor play areas at our main foster home – which are continually rendered grassless due to the high traffic of cavorting canines – by installing “EasyTurf” artificial grass. The price quote to cover these 9,443 square feet of outdoor play area is $ 89,920.
Big Ticket Item Number 2: We want to improve the level of rehabilitative care we are able to provide our animals by installing a small, in-ground sports pool at our main foster home, thereby enabling us to include hydrotherapy as an adjunctive treatment for those of our dogs who have ambulation challenges. The price for this is approximately $ 15,000.
Once again, thank you for enabling us to provide a "forever" home where special needs pets can find the peace, comfort, companionship, healing, and love that they may have lacked for most of their lives.
