Hi my name is Tori Sudol, I have been doing The Tunnels to Towers Run for as long as I can remember. I run in honor of my dad, Michael Sudol, and in remembrance of my uncle Christopher Blackwell. Both men who were there serving as firefighters on the day of September 11th 2001. My dad not only lost his best friend Christopher Blackwell, but also lost many people he considered family. These tragic losses took a piece of him that he’ll never be able to get back.
Along with running for my dad and uncle, I also run for everyone who gave a sacrifice that day and the days that followed. I come from a family with a history of being in the service, and have many close friends who are in the military as well. I run to show support to all our service men and women who have given their lives to serve and protect us.
I’ve been a part of many organizations to help support service men and women as well as our veterans. I spend a lot of time volunteering with veterans, from helping rebuild a WWII veterans house, sending care packages overseas, to laying wreaths on the graves of those who passed during the holiday season. I have participated with HOMH (help our military heroes), Wreaths Across America, and was also the president of our Semper Fi club in high school.
This is my first year starting a team, which I am very excited about. I look forward to encouraging others to run along side of me, and to raise money for such an important cause that I feel so passionate about. I am certain I can make a difference in the lives of those who keep our Nation safe, by raising as much money as I can for them. I want to thank everyone who donates in advance and appreciate any donations anyone can give.
