Jordan and I along with our pup Aska are about to embark on thru hiking the Colorado Trail! We have been training for this trip with my not so favorite activity of running...a lot. When I am tired and see yet another hill ahead of me, I think about why we are doing this crazy hike in the first place: getting three more people moving!
We are raising money for ROMP in hopes to provide 3 new prosthetics for those in need, one for each member of our little backpacking family. Our dream is that three more people will be able to accomplish their dreams, whether it be getting a job because they can now walk outside their home, the ability to race their siblings home from school, or even summiting Mount Cayambe. A prosthetic could give a person freedom and power to choose their life path.
Please consider giving to help us reach our goal. Give if you are physical therapist like me and see how injuries/surgeries/accidents can severely impact the mental health and possibilities of someone’s life. Give if you are an athlete who knows the joy of long distance swimming, seeing the beauty of the lake reflecting the mountains with every side breath. Give if you know the feeling of playing kickball with your friends, either as a kid or the new craze with a beer as an adult. Any little bit helps!
We will start the Colorado Trail July 30 from Denver heading southbound to Durango. Along the way, our amazing support team will be meeting us for resupplies and encouragement. Please consider donating another way to support us on this journey as I know time constraints and availability can be limited. In this way, we can instantly and dramatically improve someone’s life. And let’s be honest, we don’t get that opportunity that often.
