Our mission statement: Extinguish Hunger. Ignite Hope. We are trying to extinguish hunger in not just our county but also service 6 surrounding counties totaling so far this year over 7400 individuals served. We are currently renovating a 4000-sq. ft. facility on 5 acres to help maintain this ability in the hope to increase our client population by being able to be available more hours and supply the hungry with food. With being open more hours we can receive retail donations of fresh produce, dairy, meat, and other perishable items more often than twice a month. We also want to bring hope in starting a garden to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to clients to eventually teach better preservation, eating habits, and food sustainability to help our clients better their personal futures. Enabling the clients to not be hunger insecure, but have the skill to self-sustain their food supply by making better choices. To do this we need funding, it is great that we have many groups doing food drives bring us nonperishable food, but without the cash donations we cannot maintain the building, future garden, and offer any services to the people to get them the food. We are asking that the vast internet community out there help us create a more hunger secure Northwestern Minnesota.
