Deerfoot-ADK (DL-ADK) had a tremendous impact on my life. I attended DL-ADK from 1965 through 1981, as a camper for 6 years (including guide year); then on staff for 11 serving in various capacities (kitchen worker, counselor, tripping director, section chief, and guide leader). At DL-ADK, I accepted Christ and was baptized in Whitaker Lake. During those years, my relationship with Christ deepened, and my relationships with numerous people (campers and staff alike) developed into strong lasting bonds, many of which remain fast to this very day. No other place has had as significant influence on my character as DL-ADK, and I am eternally grateful to God for my experiences there.
Knowing that hundreds of other young boys, as well as staff, will have the opportunity to accept Christ and/or cultivate a deeper relationship with Him, via a wilderness camping experience at DL-Blue Ridge (DL-Blue), brings me great joy. I am thrilled to be able to particpate in the "Deerfoot Day Out" event on October 21st, raising funds for DL-Blue by swimming, riding my bike, and walking in Denver, CO. (Diane and I will be in Denver, visiting my mom.) My goal is to swim 2,000 meters, ride 30 miles, and walk 4 miles. I invite you to join me with a sponsorship of any amount per mile or per 100 meters. Or, if you prefer, a flat amount is fine too. Whatever amount you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I look foward to doing the "Deerfoot Day Out" with you as a supporter. May God richly bless you. Sincerely, Tim.
