One of the most powerful ways we can help future generations is to stop the trauma that is passed down from parent to child. One of the most powerful ways to mitigate trauma is to teach people who are hurting how to heal themselves and manage their emotions.
The Prison Yoga Project holds trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness training across the United States, in order to prepare teachers to help prisoners heal and find peace.
I have already reached out to the Cobb County, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice and they have agreed to have me come onsite to teach yoga and meditation classes there regularly. These are kids who have already been through way too much pain in their lives. They are future members of society, future parents, future neighbors.
Please support me in getting the training I need so that I can make a difference in their lives and the future of our communities.
My fundraising goal will cover the cost of the training, lodging for two nights, food, and care for my dogs in my absence. Thank you sincerely for any assistance you can provide.
