UPDATE 6/6/18: Meet Ruby! Ruby is a sweet, young Beagle who also happens to be the 1,000th dog admitted through our Transport Program! She came from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee where, due to the sheer number of adoptable dogs, she might have gone unnoticed. Thanks to you, she'll have the chance she deserves to find her forever home!
Because of your support, we have the space and resources to care for Ruby and other out-of-state dogs (without turning away local animals). Donations will continue to be matched until Sunday, June 10. Doante today to save twice as many lives!
HAR works tirelessly to transfer dogs out of overcrowded shelters in the South, and bring them to HAR with the goal of giving those animals a second chance at finding their forever homes. On June 5, 2018, Humane Animal Rescue welcomed our 1,000th transfer dog into our care.
In 2018 alone, our Transfer Program has already resulted in 315 animals being transferred into our shelters.
Upon their arrival, many of these dogs require additional medical care which may include dental work, heartworm treatment, spay/neuter, and more. During the first week, care for these dogs can cost upwards of $250. Furthermore, we do everything in our power to give these dogs (and all other animals in our shelters) the best chance at a happy future. This can include costly surgeries or long-term treatment.
To raise funds for the Transfer Program, Gerry and April Delon have agreed to match donations up to $5,000. With these funds, Humane Animal Rescue will be able to provide critical care to the dogs being transferred.
Donate now to double the impact of your donation. With your help, we can continue to rescue these dogs and give them the chance they deserve to find a loving home.
These dogs will need a few days to weeks before they will be ready for adoption. If you’re interested in adopting, please keep an eye on our website, or contact our adoptions department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
