Secret's out! Middle Tennessee is a desireable place to live, work, and play. Corporations are expanding their footprint here while others are re-locating here. Many projections have up to one million more people living in the region by 2040!
To ensure sustainability and continued economic growth in the region, the Transit Alliance is building support for funding a regional multimodal transit system.
Why transit? Transportation is crucial to accessing healthcare, jobs, and an education. Mobility connects us to the outside world, helping us lead a social life, too. Without safe, accessible multimodal transit, a percentage of our population will miss opportunities to thrive.
The Transit Alliance is committed to raising awareness about the value of transit and connecting our region. Our purpose is to educate, empower, and mobilize.
Through the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy (TCLA), the Transit Alliance has educated over 380 regional residents on the value of transit. It's free to attend these academies, but that makes them expensive to manage.
Funds raised from this challenge will go toward funding a TCLA so the Transit Alliance can keep building the knowledgeable grassroots support we need in the region to support dedicated funding for a regional multimodal transit system.
Taking transit instead of driving alone is proven to improve individual and community health outcomes while reducing carbon emissions.
One person, one car is an outdated narrative--one that the Nashville region has outgrown.
We are moving into a new era that includes better bus service, improved technologies, incentivized transit options, safer streets and improved connections for those who bike and/or walk. We can do this while making a commitment to improve our health, environment and overall quality of life.
This new story takes dedicated funding. Help the Transit Alliance create the future all of the Middle Tennessee region deserves. Donate today!
