This is a summer camp for 15 Transylvanian students and their teachers. But this is a bit more than that. Glass Figures, or Üvegfigurák is the name of the student theatre project they're all part of. Using theatre therapy and pedagogy, this group was created to help underprivileged youth in coping with stress, abuse and bad habits stemming from family background, leading them on the way to become a true team and open-minded, strong individuals. The camp involves travelling to Hungary by coach between July 8-15, visiting sites these young people would otherwise have no chance to see. We will cover four locations: Szeged, Kecskemét, Budapest and Debrecen. Sightseeing and visiting theaters will be organized with volunteers, and the group will be accommodated by private individuals or at schools to minimize costs. The funds generated here will mostly cover the costs of travel (we would like to rent a coach that's safe and up to EU environmental standards), as well as entry fees to local museums, and food. The children will bring some basic food from home and hosts are also happy to provide but we'll nevertheless need some money to buy fresh food every day. The teachers are Andrea Fincziski and Zenkő Bekő Fóri, both actresses in Odorheiu Secuiesc, or Székelyudvarhely in Hungarian, the second largest city in Harghita County in Romania. Helping them is Zsanett Szalai from Hungary, communication trainer, doula, teacher. We have applied for state funds in Hungary but never got any, so the project is now in danger. Please do help us with your donations! Your money will land with good people who will use it in good faith to help those who need and deserve it. Invest in the future of the youth!
