On July 3, 2013, Carina and I shared in the devastation of many when 18-year-old Merritt Levitan lost her life to a distracted driver. Merritt’s death was caused by 4 seconds of texting. In her honor, her friends and family founded TextLess Live More to raise awareness and end distracted driving.
As classmates and close friends of Merritt and her sister Hunter during our time at Milton Academy, Carina and I are very excited for the opportunity to run the 2019 Boston Marathon in support of TextLess Live More! No text message or phone call is more important than the life of a sister, daughter, or friend.
TLLM has joined forces with Trinity Boston Foundation, which has welcomed us to join their 2019 Trinity Boston Marathon Team. We invite you to follow and support us on our journey over the next few months as we train and fundraise!

Trinity Boston Foundation is an official charity of the Boston Athletic Association, with a collective fundraising goal of $112,500. Trinity Boston Foundation's mission is to unlock opportunity and change the odds for the youth of Boston. We build communities that: affirm, inspire, and empower youth; offer support for physical, emotional, and psychological well-being; and strengthen community health and cohesion across Boston. Trinity Boston Foundation's work was born out of the strong social justice mission of Trinity Church Boston. Our longest-standing programs, the Trinity Boston Counseling Center and Trinity Education for Excellence Program joined to become a 501(c)(3) in 2007, with our running program, Sole Train, added to the portfolio in 2009. In 2013, we added an embedded program at the McCormack Middle School in Dorchester, which is a 100% minority attended school in the Boston Public School system. Currently, Trinity Boston Foundation provides direct service to nearly 1,000 youth and families and impacts thousands through professional training services offered by the Counseling Center in schools and organizations across Boston.
