Veterans in Media and Entertainment's (VME, formerly known as VFT - Veterans in Film and Television) current website is outdated and the organization has vastly outgrown its ability to be used by industry hiring managers to find and connect with qualified veterans. This Giving Tuesday VME is kicking off a fundraising campaign that will last until the end of the year to raise the funds required to create a new online portal for its membership and industry partners. The new VME website is paramount to VME's new Veteran Fellowship Program success because it will host a job board, streamlining and simplifying the applicant screening process. Instead of wasting man-hours to create individual newsletter blasts for each internship opportunity, every one of which has differing timelines and requirements, hiring managers will be able to post directly to VME’s online job board and members will see the opportunity immediately after publishing. VME staff will be able to create online cohort groups where information can pass seamlessly between staff and members, allowing our internship alumni community to build and share successes. The increased search capability will also be a game changer, allowing hiring managers and VME staff to dial into specific qualifications, locations, and years of experience in an applicant.
