All the way back in 1982, when FaceTiming or texting wasn’t a thing, there was this cute little blonde girl (me) born in Ridgewood, NJ. My mom’s pregnancy went smooth and there were no red flags. This was a time when ultrasounds and sonograms weren’t on overkill and you really didn’t know what your son or daughter was going to look like until they actually were born. Anyways, out I came and to say I was a surprise would be an understatement. Doctors took me from my parents and attempted to look up things in medical books. There was no google or Wikipedia. (Have we established life is so much cooler now?) Well, thirty-six years later and here we are.. Blessed and changed by a wonderful team of Doctors/Nurses/Support Staff that I now consider family.
Please consider donating to MyFace to help others born with CranioFacial Differences!
“Every hour a child in the US is born with a craniofacial condition. 95% of them will undergo multiple surgeries and long-term medical care throughout their childhood and into their adult life.
myFace is here to help them.
myFace is an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of patients with facial differences by helping to fund medical, surgical, dental, speech and psychosocial services. We ensure that our patients and families have access to cutting-edge, comprehensive care from the world-class practitioners of The myFace Center for Craniofacial Care at NYU Langone Health. We also fund research and public awareness efforts, as we know, the more people who know about craniofacial conditions and the work we do, the more patients we can help!
By walking with us at Races for Faces, you allow us to continue to support the critical care we provide, bringing thousands of children and families hope for a brighter tomorrow, while enabling them to lead more fulfilling lives.
We couldn't do it without your support! Thank you!”
