Dear Family and Friends,
I’m sending you all my love and thanks for all your support over the past few years. I want to share with you how your love and support has made a difference, not just for me and Ted, but for others who are affected with GIST cancer.
I recently learned from the Life Raft Group who sponsors the GIST Walk, that this year’s Walk in New Jersey on May 4th is being dedicated in Memory of Ted. How proud I am to share this news with you and I know how proud he would be to receive such recognition for the courage he showed every day during his 8 year battle with GIST. His willingness to engage in three clinical trials extended his life another few years and will make a difference in the future for others faced with this disease. Ted’s determination and perseverance never wavered, he never gave up. Not only is his medical case in the Harvard Medical history books, he’s now having the 2019 GIST Walk dedicated in his memory…What a legacy he’s left behind!!
As you know, the GIST Walk last year was his personal goal and one of the last things he was able to do. Not only was he determined to do the Walk, even if it meant in a wheelchair, he was able to present the Clinician of the Year Award to his Doctor, Suzanne George. And, because of all of your donations, he was recognized at the event for being the top fundraiser for the Walk.
Although Ted has left us, I know he is now an Angel in Heaven watching over us.
