Women's March Youth Empower is asking for your support as we mobilize the youth of this nation to harness our strength and voices to enact change.
Created in December 2016, Youth Empower's work is focused on empowering the national youth movement and supporting youth in realizing our power at the polls and beyond. Our first program, the Youth Ambassador Program, saw 31 young activists from all around the country bring their advocacy and voices to the platform of Women's March.
In Fall 2017, we launched the Empower Toolkit, in collaboration with Teen Vogue, Peace First, Rock The Vote, Rise To Run, The Gathering For Justice and Justice League NYC. This toolkit provided actionable tools to teach young people how to organize, how to realize our voices at the polls and how to get ready to run for office.
In March 2018, Youth Empower organized the Enough! National School Walkout, a 17-minute protest in response to the Parkland tragedy. This walkout saw close to 1.6 million young people walk out of schools in protest of the gun violence that plagues communities nationwide.
In Spring 2018, Youth Empower launched the Empower Coalition, a collective of 140 national and local organizations and youth groups including Rock The Vote, Planned Parenthood, Do Something, MoveOn.org, National School Walkout US and Eighteenx18. The goal of this coalition is to empower young people to vote in numbers too great to ignore.
We have seen a resurgence in young people wanting to make their voices heard and refusing to sit by while adults make decisions that do not reflect what matters to youth. We demand a seat at the table and will stop at nothing to ensure that the country we inherit is one that values justice, humanity and love. Please support our work today.
