On the evening of January 27, 2019, our Woodley Gardens campus caught fire and most of the school was destroyed. We are happy that no one was hurt and we are thankful for the first responders who arrived so quickly to kept everyone safe.
While we are overwhelmed by the damage to such a treasured building, we are also reminded that what was damaged is only the walls and the “things” – the spirit of Woodley Gardens remains intact and is perhaps stronger than ever. After all, it is truly the Georgetown Hill staff and families that make Woodley Gardens a one-of-a-kind place.
In light of this tragedy, we take heart in the outpouring of support and love from the entire Georgetown Hill community, Woodley Gardens neighborhood, and beyond. Many have generously offered time and materials to help our affected families and restore Woodley Gardens. We are so grateful for you all!
We have begun making interim plans for our Woodley Gardens students and staff - please stay tuned for updates on how you can help. In the meantime, if you would like to make a monetary donation, please do so here. Every little bit will bring us closer to making the new Woodley Gardens campus bigger and better!
Thank you for your support and generosity!
