I feel honored and privileged to not only follow my dream of running the Boston Marathon but also for raising money for the YMCA of Greater Boston which does amazing work. The YMCA of Greater Boston is the region’s leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. One of the many missions of the YMCA is to support teens academically, socially, and emotionally. For example, this past summer the YMCA of Greater Boston handed out over 15,000 free 3-month memberships to teens at their 13 branches with unlimited access. Almost all teen programs that the YMCA offers are free to their community.
As a Special Education teacher and a high school coach, I work with a variety of different students and athletes who have various disabilities and challenges and I support them in all aspects of their lives and ultimately help prepare them to achieve their post-secondary goals. Clearly investing in today’s youth is a goal that I share with the YMCA. The work that the YMCA does to deliver remarkable care and support is certainly admirable and a cause that I am thrilled to partake in.
Please support me in raising funds for this worthwhile charity!
