I am beyond excited to say that I will be running in the 2018 Boston Marathon and feel very priviledged to be running on the YMCA of Greater Boston's Team.
I have always loved sports and being active. Since having my daughters running has become a bigger part of my life. It is so easy just to lace up your sneakers and step outside. I have completed a fewi 10Ks and ran Maine's Coast Marathon in 2015. I was hoping that completing this marathon would fulfill my dream, but I still had the yearning to run in Boston. In 2018, I have the opportunity to fulfill my dream. While fulfilling my goal, I hope that I can model the value of perservance for my children and hopefully others. Also during my training I will be raising money for an extremely important cause, the YMCA of Greater Boston.
The YMCA is very near and dear to me, as both of my daughters have attended their preschool and now one my daughters is enrolled in the after school program at the Y. I feel confident that they are being cared for and learning at the same time. The YMCA supports people of all ages. I feel that the teen population is likely the most vulernable of the age groups and the YMCA makes many strides to provide support to this population. I would love to help, even if it is in a small way, the YMCA's continued support of the teen programs. I would be grateful for any donation to my team, the YMCA's Boston Marathon team. Thank you!!!!
America's first Y, the YMCA of Greater Boston, is the regions's leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This year, a team of amazing individuals are running the Boston Marathon to once again raise funds to support YMCA of Greater Boston teen programs.
This past summer the YMCA of Greater Boston handed out over 15,000 free 3 month memberships to teens at our 13 branches with unlimited access. Almost all teen programs that the YMCA offers are free to their community.
Make a gift to the YMCA's Boston Marathon team today!
