Since 2009, the National Football League (NFL) and the American Cancer Society have teamed up in the fight against cancer through the Crucial Catch initiative. Each year, youth and high school teams from across the country do their part to raise awareness and funds to help save lives from cancer. You can help, too. Don’t sit on the bench! Join Youth Crucial Catch and help us intercept cancer.
What is Crucial Catch?: The Crucial Catch program focuses on early detection, education, and access to screenings that can catch cancer early, when it may be easier to treat. Participating clubs work to extend the reach of the NFL’s national program through local grassroots efforts focused on promoting cancer screenings, honoring cancer survivors, and planning special in-stadium or pre-game events in partnership with the American Cancer Society. Through these efforts, teams can help intercept cancer in their hometowns by supporting the program in ways that meet the needs of their communities.
This partnership has raised $18 million in support of the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives from cancer by funding grants to help people in underserved communities receive potentially lifesaving screening resources.
How does Youth Crucial Catch work?: Just sign up, recruit others, and fundraise to support Crucial Catch. Here’s how to get started:

- Choose your captains by selecting one player and one parent or other community member to assist in leading the efforts and driving fundraising success.
