3CDC recently completed a $31.9 million renovation of Ziegler Park – which includes a deep-water swimming pool, spray ground, children’s playground, basketball courts, a civic lawn and a game grove that features ping pong, bocce, chess and checkers. The park had suffered from disinvestment over the years, becoming a site for drug trafficking and other criminal activity. The renovation was completed this summer, and the park ultimately reopened to the public in June.
Ziegler Park continues to improve the physical, economic, and social conditions in the OTR/Pendleton neighborhood by reducing crime and bringing new commercial activity to the area.
At the park, we promote inclusion by strengthening the bonds of community through recreation. We welcome all, with a commitment to ensure that everyone in the neighborhood has a clean, safe and fun place to enjoy. It is our mission to offer free and reduced cost activities, leagues, and swim clinics, as well as pool memberships for all. However, we cannot do this alone – we need your help!
