Hello, my name is Ender. I am a seventeen year old Board of Directors member with Oregon Outreach Inc. I have learned the mechanics of the organization, and the challenges each staff go through to offer each student an opportunity to succeed. Staff members have myriad roles they must perform to keep the school running smoothly; and, they do it with enthusiasm and heart!
Oregon Outreach Inc. is my grandmother’s organization. She started this non-profit 28 years ago with the sole purpose of offering youth in public schools an alternative to learn and be successful. I invite you to visit the Oregon Outreach Inc. website for more detailed information.
My grandmother has worked hard to keep the schools open and running. I have watched my grandmother put her life savings into the organization; and, I love the way she still wakes up every morning, after 28 years, and shows up just like it was her first day. My grandma pours her heart into all aspects of the business and she works collaboratively with staff to ensure everything is taken care of. It’s inspiring to say the least!
Currently, there are four schools in the area, and one of them is brand new! McCoy Academy is the longest running program and just this year moved to the Portland Community College Campus. There is Molalla Academy located inside the Molalla high school, and Scappoose Academy that collaborates directly with Scappoose High School. Vernonia Academy is our newest school! All schools provide a high quality, individualized education with small classrooms and hands on integrated learning. Our hope is to continue to grow and open more schools.
Stable funding is an obstacle the organization has faced over the years.
My greatest desire is for you to hear me as I tell you, from the bottom of my heart, that all I want is for Oregon Outreach Inc. to secure $75,000.00 before the year ends! This would be enough funding to hire new staff, bring new online programs and projects into the classroom, and so much more! Your contribution to Oregon Outreach is a gift to under served students who are willing and able to rise above the limitations society tells them they have. It is a gift to students who want to succeed, which in return is a gift to our community! I want to thank you in advance for your generosity, and more importantly for your support of the students, families and staff of Oregon Outreach Inc. !!!
