I am raising money for a great cause as I prepare for my annual go at the Hartford Half Marathon. Since I was a teen, running has been a source of empowerment for me. Please consider contributing to help girls find their own passion for running while developing important life-skills!
Girls on the Run is a national positive youth-development, girls empowerment, after-school program for elementary school girls. The GOTR Greater Hartford Council began in June 2016. In its first year, it served over 164 girls in towns throughout Greater Hartford and some in New Haven. Through its 10- week curriculum, it teaches girls needed life-skills of Confidence, Character, Care & Compassion, Competence, Connections and Contribution. It integrates running as way to empower girls and teach them that the seemingly impossible is possible just by putting one foot in front of the other and believing in themselves.
