This is my 5th year running for the Hope Water Project! Every year, God puts a new purpose on my heart for why I continue to run and raise funds for the Pokot tribe in Africa. In August 2016 I had the wonderful privilege to travel to Kenya to see the impact Hope Water Project has made and to meet these beautiful people. Seeing the lengths the women go to in order to collect dirty and disease-infested water, and hearing stories about women who suffer from miscarriages because of the harsh conditions of their multiple, daily travels broke my heart. As a mother of three young children, I connected with these women who do anything to provide for their families.
Last fall, I connected with these women on another level as I suffered an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in a miscarriage. Unfortunately, the Pokot women do not have the access to medical care and treatment like we do here. But we can change that! When we raise funds, clean water wells are put into communities and so many benefits come from this. Not only do these people get to drink clean water and become healthier, but the women do not have to walk as far to collect it and the rate of miscarriage is reduced! Clean water brings health, medical care, education and the gospel of Jesus to these communities - things we easily take for granted.
Please consider partnering with me and the Hope Water Project to be the change, one well at a time. Thank you for supporting me and this cause since 2013. You are an answer to the prayers of the Pokot people!
