On November 14th, I will be running the Hartford Half Marathon. This will be my second half, but will definitely be for a greater cause than the first one. I have recently been introduced to Girls on the Run, a wonderful organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. I believe it is so important for girls today to believe they CAN be all that they want to be - they need to dream big and go for it! Girls on the Run is not about girls running fast, it is about setting personal goals and reaching your own potential. Running is integrated into the curriculum, but it is so much more than that. I first discovered the joy of running and setting goals in 7th grade. I ran through my junior year in high school, but then took about a 20 year "hiatus". When Tyler was 3, I started running again and I can say that it is truly my happy place. I use it as a stress reliever and I enjoy running with friends as then it is truly my social outlet as well. I would really appreciate your support as I tackle this challenge while promoting Girls on the Run.
