Love Runs - NorthRidge Church wrote -
1440. The number of minutes in every day that a human trafficking victim is enslaved, and the same number of minutes we are free. What will you do with it? Join us in the fight to end human trafficking in Metro Detroit.
My Story - I have two wonderful and awesome kids. My son who has amazed me his whole life so far. Smart, strong willed and persistant with the facts. My daughter who has also amazed me. Smart, strong willed as well. But she has this heart that is extremely kind and loving. I don't run these events for my gain. To get the high fives at then end, the medal, the great JOB!! I put myself out there, each season. Training hard, running in rain, wind, hot, humid, and cold for those who have no real option to run.
When I read about a victim who has been saved from trafficking. I see my daughter in them. I see the innocence that has been stripped away from their what was a normal life. We all walk around at times and think to our selves. "Why doesn't someone do something about it?" I have said this many times as well. Until I realized. How about me? Why don't I, Why aren't I doing something about it. So here I am. Another season, training for a run that will push my body and mind to its limits. Not to run for reward, a medal, or a high five. But to run for those who can't. So won't you help me, to help them have a chance. Its more than being rescued and taken from the prison they have been trapped in. They still need to break the chains of that prison. And this is why I run to raise funds. I enjoy each and every minute of my 1440 minutes of freedom. They do not. This...is why I run!!
