This year marks the second year that I will be running the Detroit Free Press Marathon. I knew that I might want to do it one more time, but this year seemed appropriate since it's the 40th Freep Marathon & I turned 40 this year.
As I began to train, I realized that I was more focused on that 40th stuff than the reason I originally started this journey. My purpose is not to prove anything to myself or anyone else, it's simply to bring awareness and, God willing, and end to human trafficking in Metro Detroit. Any dollar amount goes to an amazing cause and to victims whose faces we may never see, but will hopefully see freedom.
"1440. The number of minutes in every day that a human trafficking victim is enslaved, and the same number of minutes we are free. What will you do with it? Join us in the fight to end human trafficking in Metro Detroit."
