I am a 26 year old father of a beautiful 1 year old girl, and an avid medical marijuana activist. My home state of New Hampshire will begin operation of its long awaited medical marijuana program in the last few months of 2015 and the supply of botanists professionally trained in the cultivation of the cannabis plant is next to none, if any. I would like to change that with a little help from you. Why is this necessary might you ask? I mean isn't it a weed, doesn't it grow almost in spite of all efforts to eradicate it? Well yes and no, yes it does grow in the wild unattended, but medicinal cannabis is a different beast entirely, it is a very high tech process when done correctly, not to mention all the intricacies of genetics and cross breeding to get desired effects and to eliminate undesirable ones, that is one of the main reasons why I feel this campaign is a worthy cause, I would like to learn more about breeding this amazing plant so that I can work on a strain that has very little to no THC, the psychoactive chemical in cannabis (the one that gets you 'high') and very high levels of cannabidiol, which is the chemical known to have a profound effect on many forms of cancer. So now let's get to the point, what is this money going to be used for if I reach my goal. Tuition is $1500 and there are two additional seminars during the 14 week program that total $1000 ($500 each). I estimate $500 for materials and supplies for the course (books etc.). Air fare is around $500-750 (it's right around $4-450 to purchase now, 2 months ahead of time, but it would be much closer to the departure date, so that price will go up). I will also need lodgings in Oakland for 2 1/2 months, I am looking at small studios and efficiency apartments, I don't need anything fancy, just a bed and a microwave. So from what I have seen the cost of that will be anywhere from $750-$1000 per month so that's $3000. I am giving myself between $300-400 a month for food so I will say $1000. I will need transportation also, and I am going to do my best to use mass transit as much as possible, and when I can't, I will use über most likely, this one is a bit more difficult to estimate, but I think $750 will be a safe cushion. So that is everything. All funds beyond what I need and/or use will be donated to cancer research. Tuition/supplies: $3000 Airfare: $750 Lodgings: $3000 Groceries: $1000 Transportation: $750 Misc. expenses: $500 Emergency fund: $1000 Total: $10000 Thank you all so very much for even giving me your time and attention long enough to read this, and for those of you that will donate, I love you all, you are saints and I want you to know that this is my passion, this opportunity will not only help me provide a better life for my family once I apply the knowledge I gain in the field, it will also help improve the quality of life for countless others in need of this wonder medicine. Thank you all again. Yours truly, Seadon L. White
