OBNA & MPAC Walk to Beat Cancer
Organized by: OBNA
EVENT DATE Oct 25, 2014
On Saturday October 25th at 5:00pm, we invite you to join the Boards of Oakwood Boulevard Neighborhood Association and Mandrake Park Advisory Council in a 5k walk around the Mandrake Park East jogging/walking track.
Many of our neighbors, friends and family members have in some way been touched by cancer, and indeed many of them are survivors and fighters!
As September is Prostate Cancer awareness month and October is Breast Cancer awareness month, money raised will be donated to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
How can you get involved?
1. Make a donation and come out and walk (recommended).
2. Make a donation and come out and cheer on the walkers.
3. Make a donation and stay home (not recommended but we understand that you might be out of town so we will forgive you).
4. Make a donation in honor of a neighbor, friend or family member that has been affected by cancer.
When you make your donation there will be an area where you can make a comment. Please indicate if you will be walking, cheerleading/volunteering in person or whether you are unable to make it to the event.
In keeping with the Prostate and Breast Cancer awareness themes, all walkers and cheer leaders are encouraged to wear pink or blue.
If you have any questions please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Julie Dent Tun on 312-953-2523.
