On 5 October Old Glory will start her trek into Tucson from Picacho Peak. Over the course of the day, multiple teams of Tucsonans will run, walk or cycle Old Glory through Oro Valley, Marana and North/Northwest Tucson until she gets to Himmel Park around 5:30PM. Everyone is encouraged to join Old Glory for her last mile of the day into the UofA Old Main to help retire the her for the night. We will have a full military Retreat Ceremony at the University and then make our way back to Himmel Park for a family-friendly BBQ, complete with obstacle course bounce castle for the kids (and adults!). The BBQ will be from 6-8pm.

At sunrise on September 11th, Old Glory will by unfurled on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington for an inspiring experience connecting Eagles, Patriots and Communities across our great Nation. Throughout this third iteration of “America’s Relay” 1,000s of hands will help transport Old Glory the 4,216 miles of this year’s completely redesigned course. Each of the hands that will touch this year’s Old Glory will have their own story of why they are Connected to the symbol of our Nation. These stories woven together will impact communities on an off the course with positive enrichment through action. Team Red, White and Blue’s mission is to enrich the lives of American Veterans through physical and social activities within their communities. After 62-days on the course, the Old Glory Relay will conclude in Tampa on Veteran’s Day.
