One Week Out from Day 48 of the Old Glory Relay
October 20, 2016
At sunrise on September 11th, Old Glory will by unfurled on the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington for an inspiring experience connecting Eagles, Patriots and Communities across our great Nation. Throughout this third iteration of “America’s Relay” 1,000s of hands will help transport Old Glory the 4,216 miles of this year’s completely redesigned course. Each of the hands that will touch this year’s Old Glory will have their own story of why they are Connected to the symbol of our Nation. These stories woven together will impact communities on an off the course with positive enrichment through action. Team Red, White and Blue’s mission is to enrich the lives of American Veterans through physical and social activities within their communities. After 62-days on the course, the Old Glory Relay will conclude in Tampa on Veteran’s Day.
The Twin Cities Chapter has particpated in the Old Glory Relay for the past two years. It has been a powerful experience for everyone to travel, run, and do our part in moving the flag to its final destination. This year, the Relay is bringing back some who have particiapted before and fired up newer members of our Chapter to participate. We are excited to travel to Louisiana to run this year, but at the same time are heart broken by the devastating floods that have impacted the region. Because of this, the Chapter is designing a service project to help those affected by the floods as a commitment to serving and supporting our fellow Americans.
The Team RWB mission is driven by our Eagle Ethos of PASSION, PEOPLE, POSITIVITY, COMMUNITY, CAMARADERIE and COMMITMENT. The Relay will be led by Team Red, White and Blue’s unique style of leadership blending EMPATHETIC & AUTHENTIC actions, GENUINE & LOYAL relationships, and EFFECTIVE communication. The Connections made through the Old Glory Relay our supported by our presenting sponsor Microsoft’s desire to empower Veterans of our Nation with the tools for a successful career in the IT industry. Join the experience and tell us how you are CONNECTED with Old Glory.
