And I’m so grateful to every friend who has ever volunteered with iMentor (especially those of you who stuck with us when things weren’t /aren’t perfect) or given even a $1 of their HARD WON money. Last year, you all gave almost $5,000 to this fundraising effort!!!
This year, there are 3 ways you can support iMentor’s work.
1) If you can afford our 10/26 Benefit at $1,000 per ticket, please let me know now and I will reserve a ticket for you. This is our first annual event, and I will need a lot of help to make sure the event is hugely successful. It will be at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel by Central Park, and it will be great, because I’m organizing it. :)
2) I am hoping to raise $3,000 through the Donor Drive this year, in honor of my 3 mentees with iMentor. $1,000 supports 1 mentor-mentee pair to participate in iMentor for one full year. Please know that we do not waste your $. I make sure of it.
3) There are still lots and lots of kids in NYC who need mentors. iMentor has the capacity to grow, but we need most excellent people to continue to volunteer. Please consider being a mentor and spread the word.
Please feel free to forward this page to anyone you think might be interested in iMentor’s work.
At the end of the day, it’s each and every one of our 1,800 mentoring relationships and my former mentees Laticha, Mariama & Kerry Ann that define my purpose and reason for being at iMentor. And every day when I leave my Noah & Lucie to head to work, I know that there is only one place that justifies my spending all of their weekday waking hours away from those rascals.
Thank you so much everyone, for your support, every year for the last 10 years. It means THE WORLD to me.

Thanks for stopping by iMentor’s Online Donor Drive!
The Online Donor Drive (ODD) is a "friendraising" campaign aimed at raising funds to support iMentor's vital work. The campaign asks iMentor’s 1,800 mentors to create pages and invite their networks to support their passion for mentoring. ODD is an outlet for crowdsourcing, fundraising and social interaction that allows pagemakers to tap into their competitive sides for a good cause!
Every dollar makes a difference. A donation as small as $25 allows a mentee to attend a year of iMentor events. $100 supplies a mentee with a year's access to monthly career and college preperation events. $500 sponsors a mentee’s participation for an entire year.
We have all had someone in our lives that we consider a role model or a mentor. Don’t you think today’s youth deserve the same opportunity? iMentor makes this possible.
To learn more about iMentor, visit www.imentor.org.
iMentor is the premiere mentoring program in NYC. This year alone, iMentor will match 1,800 professionals in one-on-one relationships with students from low income neighborhoods in NYC. In addition, iMentor will bring our innovative model to thousands of students nationwide through our national program, iMentor Interactive. Mentoring relationships are changing the trajectory of mentees’ lives by helping them graduate high school and enroll in college.
iMentor’s impact is best explained by the students we serve. Kandace, a mentee from the Bronx, says; “My mentor gives me support in school and lets me know I can succeed. With her support, nothing can get me down. She lifts me up when I’m down and keeps me motivated.”
