Welcome to my 2012 Online Donor Drive page!
As many of you know, I not only work for iMentor but I also mentor a NYC high school student through the iMentor program. iMentor connects professionals (like myself) in 1:1 mentoring relationships with NYC students to help increase success throughout high school and into college.
I’ve had the great opportunity to be matched with Andy since the beginning of the school year. Andy is a Freshman at JMC who loves technology and messing around with rubix cubes. I have definitely learned a lot from Andy and look forward to the next 4 years of our match. It’s has been amazing getting to know him and I am proud to have this opportunity to let you into my world as a mentor.
The Online Donor Drive (ODD) is a "friendraising" campaign aimed at bringing together mentors and their networks to raise awareness and funds to support iMentor's work. Last year, ODD brought in over $86,000- the most the campaign has ever raised! This year we are aiming to shatter that record, and with your help, raise over $125,000.
But why is Online Donor Drive important?
Hopefully you know this already, but it costs money to ensure iMentor’s pairs have access to the highest quality programming and resources – Each mentor/mentee pair cost $1,000 a year to support, so whether you help with $10 or $1,000, your involvement makes you part of a network of individuals who go beyond to make a lasting investment in transforming the life of a high school student. It’s not every day that you can say you helped change a life, but today can be that day.
iMentor provides youth in underserved communities with college-educated mentors who help students develop the leadership, academic, and social skills needed to succeed in high school and college. This year, 2,400 New York City high school students will work 1:1 with their mentors to build a bright future.
