Dear Colleagues, Friends and Family,
As some of you know, I've been working with an organization named iMentor since 2011. The program connects working folks like myself with high school students in low-income communities across NYC.
Here's my favorite stat about the program: In 2011, 83% of iMentor’s 12th graders graduated high school compared to the average NYC graduation rate of 63%. Put differently, students enrolled in iMentor are less than half as likely to drop out of high school.
Donor Drive Makes a Difference
Funds raised will help iMentor match more than 1,800 students with mentors this year. It costs $1,000 for iMentor to provide each mentor-mentee pair with access to quality programming and resources. Every donation you give or raise—whether $10 or $1,000—will make you part of a team that is having a lasting impact on the life of a high school student.
PS - iMentor is growing so can always use great mentors. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please let me know! You can also find more info here: http://www.imentor.org/become-a-mentor
