This fund is to help Bailey finish college. Her mother, Christy O'Donnell, a Los Angeles Lawyer, visiting professor at Oxford University, and previous LAPD Sergeant/Detective Supervisor, was diagnosed with Stage IV lung adenocarcinoma - a lung cancer that had spread to her brain. Christy is pushing for a Death with Dignity law in California so she can end her own life with her daughter Bailey by her side. Here is an inspiring article in People Magazine about her fight and how she chose to spend the rest of her time here with us.
In perhaps the crowning achievement of such an outstanding legal career, Christy spoke today before the Senate Health Committee. Within an hour, the Right to Die with Dignity bill passed the committee. It now makes its way to the Judiciary Committee on April 7 and then it's off to the Senate vote. Thanks in part to Christy, Californians may have a right to die with dignity.
